Fire Up the Grill

If P-Diddy is using this pre-season evening in Canton to assess his new free agent acquisitions and rookies, Chef figures he ought do the same in the Cafe 641 test kitchen.

Tonight's sole offering comes from guest Chef LT:

Bacon Ben Roethlis-burger marinated in Habanero Heinz Ward Catsup.

It's a basic dish, yes. But it's starting point -- ground beef -- is a good reminder of what our DEFENSE must achieve this season.

Need appetizers? They don't get any better than these from the youtube investigative duo of Dilly-Berto.

Ok, now I need a concoction to go with the fantastic menu for this evening. I'm thinking something of the non-alcoholic bloody mary nature.

Or in honor of Lance Moore's mentor, a czech version of health-for-fetus beer? http://www.budvar.cz/en/web/Produkty/Nealkoholicke-pivo.html

Well, on the alcoholic side, I'm thinking about trying out one of the recipes on the Absolut New Orleans site. Thanks to Ashley, I've got a bottle.

Chef, that 'berger was rancid.

Let's try something different next week. Yuck.

I agree mr. clio, the 'berger did not satisfy. However tis only pre-season I suggest a quick downing of a "Pat O's" Hurricane. The liquor will get that bad taste out and the brain freeze will help you forget.

After watching last night's game, I've decided to go veggie until the end of regular season. But I must say, that Pat O's hurricane hit the spot!

Agreed. Even in the test kitchen, hindsight is 20/20, and Chef oughta known better when he substituted turkey bacon for the real thing on the stuffed Bacon Ben Rothles-burger (it was a lesson learned from P-Diddy -- don't tip your hand too early).
